Andersen’s unique Custom Palette service features in Auto Express

Andersen was delighted welcome John McIlroy, the then Editor-in-Chief of Auto Express, to its headquarters to experience the brand’s unique Custom Palette service.

John visited Andersen’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Stewartby back in August as part of his long-term review of the Polestar 2 Long Range. Opting to upgrade on his existing charge point with an Andersen A3, John used his time with the Polestar to customise his very own designer EV charging point.

“The UK-based charge point company has carved out its own niche with its A2 and A3 units, offering a customisable premium finish,” John says as he details the process of matching his charge point to the Polestar’s Thunder Grey, using Andersen’s recently launched Custom Palette service.

He added: “As well as offering front panels made from wood, a number of different painted metals and even carbon-fibre weave, Andersen claims it can match a charge point to any shade you’d like. This seemed like an interesting challenge to us, and one befitting of the Polestar’s uber-cool image.”

 As part of his visit, John was also taken through the step-by-step process of building and customising his own Andersen charge point, as well as experiencing the quality and precision throughout the entire manufacturing process.

Once his unit has been assembled and he receives his Certificate of Authenticity, John took his new, bespoke Andersen A3 charge point outside to see how it compared alongside his Polestar 2: “It’s immediately clear that it’s an excellent match.”
