These Terms and Conditions govern the "10 Years of Free EV Charging" prize draw promotion (the "Promotion") administered by Andersen EV ("Andersen"). By participating, the winner (the "Customer") agrees to be bound by these rules in their entirety.
1. Purpose & The Core Prize
Andersen will reimburse the Customer for the electricity costs incurred while charging one (1) designated electric vehicle (EV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) for a fixed period of ten (10) consecutive years from the date of the prize award, subject strictly to the limits, mileage splits, and verification protocols outlined below.
2. Financial Caps & Inflation Safeguards
- Annual Cap: Total reimbursement is strictly capped at a maximum of £750 per calendar year (defined as a 12-month period starting from the date of award). Any charging costs incurred by the Customer above £750 in any single year will be borne entirely by the Customer.
- Cumulative Lifetime Cap: The total cumulative payout across the 10-year term shall not exceed £7,500.
- Non-Accrual: Unused portions of the £750 annual allowance cannot be rolled over into subsequent years.
3. Mileage Limits & Charging Split (The 85/15 Rule)
The Promotion is based on a maximum allowance of 10,000 driving miles per annum (p.a.).
- Home Charging (Minimum 85%): The Customer must perform at least 85 per cent of their annual vehicle charging at their primary residence using a registered, smart-connected Andersen charge point (up to a maximum allocation of 2,428 kWh p.a.).
- Public Charging (Maximum 15%): Up to 15 per cent of the annual charging may be performed on public networks (up to a maximum allocation of 428 kWh p.a.). Public charging must be performed using the most cost-effective methods reasonably available.
4. Tariff Compliance & Smart Charging Mandate
- Smart Tariff Requirement: The Customer agrees to move their household electricity supply to a dedicated, off-peak EV Smart Tariff (such as Intelligent Octopus Go) within sixty (60) days of receiving the award.
- Andersen Advisory: Andersen will provide recommendations on the most competitive tariffs available. The Customer must reasonably follow these recommendations.
- Non-Compliance Penalty: If the Customer refuses to migrate to an approved EV Smart Tariff and remains on a standard variable tariff (such as the Ofgem standard price cap), Andersen reserves the right to cap home charging reimbursements at a fixed flat rate of 8p per kWh.
5. Verification, Data Auditing, and Payout Structure
- Quarterly Claims: Reimbursements will be processed and paid into the Customer's designated UK bank account quarterly, following the submission of a written claim form.
- Data Matching: To approve a claim, the Customer must provide:
- Direct data logs from their Andersen or energy provider app showing the precise total kWh delivered to the vehicle at home.
- Digital itemised receipts for any public charging claims.
- Annual vehicle odometer readings (if requested) to verify total driving mileage.
- Fair Use & Fraud Prevention: The prize is strictly restricted to the charging of the Customer's primary, registered EV. The data logs from the Andersen charger must align logically with the vehicle's real-world usage. If Andersen discovers the charger is being used to fuel commercial vehicles, neighbours' cars, or secondary household vehicles, the prize will be instantly forfeited.
6. Non-Transferability & Structural Changes
- Change of Vehicle: The Customer may upgrade or change their EV during the 10-year period, provided they register the new vehicle details with Andersen. The calculation baseline will always default to an industry standard consumption rate of 3.5 miles per kWh.
- Change of Property: If the Customer moves house, the prize remains valid provided they pay for the removal and legal re-installation of the smart Andersen hardware at their new property by an approved installer, maintaining the device's cloud connection.
- No Cash Alternative or Transfer: The prize is personal to the winner. It cannot be sold, assigned, or transferred to any subsequent owner of the property, charger, or vehicle.
7. Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by, interpreted, and enforced strictly in accordance with English Law, and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Schedule A: Transparent Cost & Calculation Guide
This matrix forms the transparent, mutual baseline for how quarterly claims will be mathematically assessed, assuming standard vehicle efficiency of 3.5 miles per kWh:

Home Charging (85%)

Public Charging (15%)

The Transparent Buffer Explanation:
The calculated real-world baseline cost of this prize is £493.84 per year. Andersen has intentionally set the official annual contract cap at £750 per year to act as a permanent, generous safety net for the customer. This ensures that even if wholesale energy costs rise, or if public rapid charging price averages creep upward over the next decade, the customer's 10,000 miles of driving remains 100% free and fully covered.
