Andersen EV, manufacturer of the UK’s premium electric vehicle home charge point, has partnered with OVO to provide its customers with access to Charge Anytime, the market-leading at home charging rate.
OVO’s ‘Charge Anytime’ EV add-on is fixed at 7p/kWh, meaning Andersen EV customers will be able to charge their EV at home for around 2p per mile*.
Together, OVO and Andersen EV are working to make EV charging more accessible. As a result of the partnership, all new and existing Andersen A2 (2024) and A3 EV charger customers will be able to access Charge Anytime, regardless of which EV they drive.
OVO’s cutting-edge ‘type of use’ Charge Anytime add-on enables drivers to customise their charging activity via Charge Anytime. This will work in parallel with the Andersen EV app to give customers greater control over charging. OVO’s Charge Anytime add-on has enabled customers to save over £11 million since its launch in 2022. Powered by Kaluza’s smart software, the add-on works by automatically optimising cars to charge when energy emissions and prices are low. EV drivers can access the discounted charging rate at any time of day or night, and drive for just **£190 per year with Charge Anytime, making it one of the UK’s most competitive charging rates.
David Martell, CEO of Andersen EV, said: “Our integration with OVO aims to simplify the charging experience while saving our customers money. We know from the latest Andersen Index that, by smart charging an EV at home on OVO’s Charge Anytime tariff rather than refuelling a petrol car, motorists can now save over £1,300 a year. This new partnership enables us to promote the most affordable way to drive an EV.”
OVO’s Director of EV, Alex Thwaites, said: “OVO is committed to rewarding customers for switching to an electric car. Together with Andersen EV we are bringing Charge Anytime to more customers than ever before, making it easier and greener to drive electric.”
Andersen EV charge points are hand-made in the UK using the highest quality materials and combine exceptional design with advanced electric vehicle charging technologies and smart features. Andersen EV offers its customers a choice of 126 colour combinations, making its range the most extensive of any charge point in the UK.
*The 2p a mile claim is based on an EV customer driving the UK average of 7,000 miles at an average of 4 miles per kWh. The Charge Anytime add-on rate on 01/01/2024 is 7p per kWh. Actual sum per mile is 1.75p. Individual costs will vary based on vehicle efficiency and driving style.
**Based on a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2, a typical small petrol car will offer around 52mpg. 52mpg = 11.42miles/litre, equating to 87 litres to cover 1,000 miles. According to the RAC, the average cost per litre of unleaded petrol is £1.48/litre. Monthly cost to diver 1,000 miles = 87 litres x £1.48/litre = 128.76 (or 12.9p/mile)
