Andersen EV is giving customers 3,000 free miles of home charging with every qualifying order, following a major milestone for electric vehicle sales in the UK.
Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that battery electric vehicles accounted for 30% of all new cars registered in June — nearly one in every three.
This was the highest monthly market share achieved by fully electric cars in 2026 so far and a sharp rise from the 20.6% share recorded in January.
To celebrate the continued growth of electric driving and help more motorists make the transition, Andersen customers will receive 3,000 miles of home charging at no additional cost. The offer, worth £52.50, is available until the end of July.
David Martell, CEO of Andersen EV, said: “Nearly one in three new cars registered in June was fully electric, which is an important milestone for the UK’s transition to electric driving.
“We want to celebrate that progress while helping customers make the most of owning an electric vehicle. By offering 3,000 free charging miles, we’re making it even more rewarding to charge at home and take advantage of lower off-peak electricity rates.”
The promotional value is based on an average real-world EV efficiency of 4.0 miles per kWh and an off-peak home electricity rate of 6.99p per kWh.
At this level of efficiency, travelling 3,000 miles would require approximately 750 kWh of electricity, with a calculated cost of £52.43, rounded to a promotional value of £52.50.
The EV sales milestone comes as the wider UK new car market continues to grow.
A total of 1,137,929 new cars were registered between January and June 2026, an increase of 9.2% compared with the same period in 2025.
Growth in June was led by electrified models. Alongside the 30% market share achieved by battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids accounted for 12.5% of registrations, while conventional hybrids represented a further 14%.
Together, battery electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid vehicles made up more than half of all new cars registered during the month.
Terms, conditions and eligibility criteria apply. The estimated value and mileage are based on an average EV efficiency of 4.0 miles per kWh and an electricity rate of 6.99p per kWh. Actual charging costs and achievable mileage will vary depending on the vehicle, driving style, weather conditions, energy tariff and other factors.
