Continue shoppingCharging your electric vehicle should fit seamlessly into your lifestyle. By pairing your Andersen charge point with a dedicated EV energy tariff, your home charging shifts to off-peak hours when grid demand is low, allowing you to power your vehicle at the most cost-effective rates available.
When setting up your home EV charging, you will generally come across two distinct types of off-peak electricity structures. Understanding how they operate helps you get the maximum efficiency out of your Andersen unit.
A Time-of-Use tariff relies on static time windows set by your energy provider (for example, a lower-cost rate that applies strictly between midnight and 5:00 AM every single night).
How you use it: You use the Andersen App to schedule your charger to turn on and off precisely within those fixed hours.
A Smart Tariff is dynamic and automated. The energy provider communicates directly with your Andersen charger in real time based on live grid demand and capacity.
How you use it: You simply plug your car in and tell the provider's app your requirements such as needing an 80% charge by 7:00 AM.

Time-Of-Use Tariffs
The scheduling feature within the Andersen App ensures straightforward compatibility with every fixed Time-of-Use tariff in the UK.
Whether your overnight off-peak window is provided by British Gas, E.ON Next, EDF Energy, ScottishPower, Utility Warehouse, or any other UK supplier, you can easily align your charger with your tariff. Once your hours are set in the app, your Andersen unit manages the charge session - automatically drawing power only when your off-peak rate begins.
How charging at home can save you hundreds.
*Only compatible for Andersen Quartz, A3 and 7kW A2 models.
