How to calculate your charging time

Every electric vehicle has different charging times. So we can understand the potential confusion. There are only 2 main things to consider when working out your cars charging time.

What do I need to know?

Your EVs battery size & how much power your charge point has.

Calculation to work out your charging time:

If you charge your Lotus Eletre with a 111kWh battery capacity, from 0-100% using your Andersen A3, you would expect this to typically take around 15 hours.

However, most EV owners will never need to use 100% of their
battery range. To charge from 20%-80%, simply calculate 60% of the total charge
time.

The Andersen A3 has 7.2kW of power, similar to the average
home charge point.

However, most EV owners will never need to use 100% of their battery range. To charge from 20%-80%, simply calculate 60% of the total charge time.
