Andersen EV and Octopus Energy offer six months of free home charging

Andersen EV, the UK’s leading provider of design-led EV charge points, is partnering with Octopus Energy to offer six months of free EV charging for anyone purchasing an Andersen device from 1 March 2026. Based on analysis from Octopus Energy, the offer represents the equivalent of around 4,370** miles of free driving and £234 in electricity cost savings.

The offer coincides with the introduction of the ‘26’ registration plate for new cars, and the offer will provide valuable support to many new EV owners about to begin charging at home for the first time.

The promotion is being delivered through Intelligent Octopus Go, Octopus Energy’s smart EV tariff designed to optimise charging during off-peak periods using low-cost, renewable-led electricity.

Andersen EV’s full portfolio of charging devices is available through the promotion, including the award-winning A3, its highly successful A2 sibling and the highly compact Andersen Quartz. Each is a showcase for Andersen’s signature craftsmanship and premium design, featuring high-quality materials and customisable aesthetics to complement a wide range of homes and vehicles. Customers can personalise their charger by choosing from a wide selection of finishes and facias, ensuring the unit integrates seamlessly with its surroundings, as well as offering the intelligent features expected from a high-end home charging solution.

The new offer also follows the UK Government announcement that it will expand EV charger installation grants, which now cover almost half the typical cost. Combined with an initial period of free charging, the result is a compelling package for drivers considering the switch to electric, helping accelerate nationwide adoption.

“The March plate change remains one of the most significant moments in the UK motoring calendar and this offer will help encourage more motorists to make the switch to electric for their next car,” says David Martell, CEO of Andersen EV. “This offer builds on our existing partnership with Octopus, which has already helped deliver thousands of low-cost miles for EV drivers across the UK.”

Richard Sephton, Head of EV Partnerships at Octopus Energy, added: "Andersen is accelerating the EV transition by bundling the cost-saving power of Intelligent Octopus Go into its charger range. By offering this as a bundled solution, EV drivers will unlock hundreds of pounds in annual savings that smart tariffs provide, delivering a premium charging experience that pays for itself."

*Cost saving is calculated on the comparison between Intelligent Octopus Go’s 7.5p per kWh charging rate and the current standard electricity rate of 24.67p, according to Ofgem. The cost saving is based on an average 0.303 kWh per mile (Source: EV Database UK), resulting in a total saving of £221 for the equivalent of 4,370 miles. **The average annual mileage is based on research from HPI which calculated the average mileage for electric vehicles in the UK as 8,740 miles.
