Case Study
Charging at Chapel Cottage
Ian and his wife recently installed an Andersen A2 charge point at his holiday cottage in Norfolk, which he rents out to families and individuals throughout the year.
We caught up with Ian and asked him a little bit more about his experience.
"So Ian, how did you first learn about Andersen?"
My wide and I decided to try an electric car back in summer 2021 and went on to order a Ford Mustang Mach-E in September that year.
We knew that we would need an EV charging point at home, so I began my research. As a result, I found Artisan Electrics' Youtube Channel. I discovered Andersen from one of their videos.
"What made you choose an Andersen A2 charge point?"
The holiday cottage we own and run as a business is very old and is located in a beautiful part of the country.
Aesthetically, I knew that the other charging points would not fit with the look of the cottage or surround area, so the Andersen A2 was an obvious choice for us to go for, due to it's customisable front colours and design-led focus.

"What colour option did you choose for your Andersen A2, and why?"
We chose the Cotswold Oak fascia and the steel aluminium for the panel colour. The oak looked beautiful and softened the look of the charger whilst the steel matched in with the colour of the cast iron guttering downpipes.
"How did you have your Andersen A2 charge point installed?"
We used a local firm called Wyer Electrical to install the charger. They had experience in installing EV chargers but importantly for us they were a local firm. They were on site for a week as we also requested other work to be completed including a new consumer unit. They were very competent and kept us informed at every step. Overall it was very straight forward.

"How has having an Andersen A2 benefitted your business?"
2023 is the first year that we've had and EV charger available at the cottage as it was installed at the end of last years season (we needed to wait for the busy period to end for installation etc). There aren't many cottages with an EV charge point locally, so we hope that by having one on the cottage is more attractive for some guests.
We also benefit from it ourselves when we are there for leisure/jobs.
"What features about the Andersen do you find particularly useful?"
The neat and tidy solution it offers is great. Having the cable tucked away and the reach of the cable is fantastic. I also really like the look of the charger. The ability to remotely disable the charger is very useful for us, so we can control the access even when we are not at the cottage.
