Last week, Andersen hosted an EV workshop for children at Weston Favell Primary School in Northampton to educate them on the environmental, financial and societal benefits of electric vehicles.
The workshop took place on Wednesday 13th November, with Andersen staff leading an assembly to all year groups. As part of the workshop, Andersen also ran a student design competition, where students designed custom front panel for a charge point.
An Andersen branded electric vehicle was also parked in the playground of Weston Favell Primary School, allowing children to get up close and personal with an EV for the first time.
The workshop supported Weston Favell Primary’s ongoing commitment to educating children about their environmental responsibility and to help them develop an awareness of the impact their choices can have on the planet.
David Martell, Chief Executive of Andersen, said: “The transition to electric vehicles will have a direct impact on these students and so it is crucial that they understand the many benefits of EVs, both for the environment and society. By communicating with the children directly and allowing them to experience EVs first hands, hopefully they will appreciate the importance of decarbonising transport and that an electric future is an exciting one.”
Tasnim Begum, Science Lead at Weston Favell Primary School, added: “Educating children on sustainability is incredibly important, and we are thrilled about this opportunity to enable children to receive this invaluable experience. It’s essential for fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment in the next generation.”
