Andersen A3 ranked best home charger for quality by What Car?

Andersen, the designer EV charging brand, has been ranked the best charger for quality in the What Car? 2024 home EV charger review.

The Andersen A3 charge point was reviewed by Claire Evans, consumer editor for What Car?, who received her own A3 earlier this year.

The A3 received a score of four stars out of five, ranking fourth overall, but scoring the highest overall for installation satisfaction and joint highest for ease of use.

In her review, Claire Evans said: “I really like the fact that the A3 is made from sustainable materials, and that I could order it with a Cotswold Oak Accoya front panel and cream casing so it matches the style of my 120-year-old cottage.

“Andersen is the only company that offers units with tethered cables that can be tucked away inside the wallbox so your drive doesn’t look scruffy. The A3 is also practical, with lighting inside the lid of the wallbox and underneath it.”

The Andersen A3 features 247 colour and finish combinations, a market-leading 7-year warranty and its own team of in-house installers.

In the review, it also said that Andersen provided a swift, effective response to any customers with faults, fixing 50% of issues in less than 24 hours, 25% in less than a week and the rest in less than 30 days.

Claire Evans continued: “The installer was knowledgeable and spent some time resolving an intermittent issue with my wi-fi by fitting a range extender plug in the house close to the charger.

“You have to use a phone app to schedule charging, but once you’ve set up all your desired parameters, you simply have to plug in the car.The charger is a breeze to use and has worked faultlessly with a number of different cars, not requiring me to use the scheduling on the cars, which has been the case in the past.

“I also found the complimentary concierge service useful for getting advice on the most suitable low-cost energy tariff. It’s reassuring that the unit comes with a seven-year warranty.”
