Why should I install a home EV charger instead of a 3-pin plug?
While you can use a 3-pin plug, it charges very slowly (often taking over 24 hours for a full charge). A dedicated home charge point like Andersen’s chargers can charge your car up to 10 times faster and are safer for prolonged use
What is the difference between the Andersen Quartz, A3 and A2?
The Andersen Quartz is our most compact unit and is our only socketed charge point, meaning you use the charging cable from your vehicle rather than having a unit tethered to the charge point itself. The Andersen Quartz can also be configured for both single-phase (7kW) and three-phase (22kW) properties.
The Andersen A3 features a similar casing design to the Andersen A2 but is more compact and only suitable for single-phase properties. The A2 can be configured for three-phase properties or for customers that require a longer charging cable (up to 8.5m from the standard 5.5m length for the A3).
All charge points feature solar compatibility, WiFi connectivity and a market-leading 7-year warranty. All Andersen charge points can be controlled remotely via the Andersen App.
Does the Andersen Quartz have a hidden cable like the A2 and A3?
No, the Andersen Quartz offers a tethered cable solution without the hidden cable compartment. The cable will be stored neatly on a hook underneath the charge point, if you specify this during your configuration.
Why should I choose an Andersen charge point?
Andersen charge points combine premium design, advanced technology, and robust build quality to give you more than just a charger. Unlike standard plastic chargers, Andersen units are crafted from premium materials with finishes that complement your home, and their unique hidden cable system keeps your driveway tidy. All models come with a market-leading 7-year warranty for peace of mind, and installation is handled by our own in-house team, accredited as a Which? Trusted Trader, ensuring a professional experience with an industry-leading 2–3 week installation lead time. With smart features like scheduled charging and remote control via the Andersen App, plus future-ready capabilities such as solar integration, Andersen offers a charger that enhances your property, delivers practical benefits every day, and is engineered to last.
Will my Andersen work with my electric vehicle?
Yes. All Andersen chargers use Type 2 connectors, compatible with all modern EVs sold in the UK and Europe.
Are Andersen charge points weatherproof?
Yes, all Andersen chargers are fully weatherproof and built to withstand the harshest UK conditions, ensuring durability and safety outdoors.
What is the installation process for an Andersen charge point?
When you configure your Andersen charge point, you have three options for installation: Standard installation, Premium Installation and No install.
Standard installation: Once you have configured your Andersen charge point, you will be emailed a remote survey link to complete. This form consists of 13 simple question about your property and where you want your charge point installed. You will need to answer the questions in as much detail as you can and you will be asked to submit images of your electricity meter and where you want your charge point installed. Once you have completed the survey, our Operations team will be in touch to schedule your installation date.
Premium installation: If you opt for our Premium installation package, we will contact you after you have completed your order to arrange a date for a member of our installation team to visit your property and complete your survey for you. This will be on a separate day prior to your installation. Once the survey has been reviewed by our installation team, we will be in touch to schedule a date for your installation.
No install: You also have the option to purchase your Andersen charge point without installation, if you wish to have it installed by a third-party. You can find a list of our recommended installers by clicking here.
How long does it take to install an Andersen charge point?
A typical charge point installation takes between 3-4 hours, however this depends on your property and the details of your survey.
How long do I have to wait to have my charge point installed?
We are currently operating with a 2-3 week lead time for our installations. Our installation network is nationwide and our Operations team will be in contact with you after you have completed your survey to arrange your installation for a day that suits you.
When will my charge point arrive?
We aim to get your charger to you as quickly as possible. Orders usually ship within 48 hours, and deliveries are arranged Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 6pm. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way so you know exactly when to expect it.
Do you charge for shipping?
No, all Andersen EV charge points include free delivery and shipping.
